So, today I woke up to the best thing a kid could wake up to! I went to text my girlfriend "Good Morning, Lyns(: " and to my amazement, the text was not permitted to be sent. Why is this? Apparently my mother decided it would be "beneficial to me" if she put a limit on my phone for texting. I can no longer send a text between 10:30 P.M. thru 7:29 A.M. ; then it continues from 8:00 A.M. till 3:30 P.M.
On top of this, I now have a 250 message limit on my phone. Oh, how convenient! Now, I can send and receive 250 messages... Total. For a teenage boy in the 21st century, who, to say the least, is very social, this is impossible to keep. This ban should be taken off for many reasons... What may these reasons be? Hmmm, let's take a look shall we.
- In the event of wanting to attempt of having a social life, I no longer can communicate with the very friends and girlfriend that i associate myself with. This will lead to the demise of my social status.
- In the case that there is an emergency where i will need the use of my phone, I will not be able to use it. Say at school, there was a hostage situation... I would not be able to call for help for the following reasons:
- My restrictions would be on, therefore restricting me from calling/texting in school.
- My limit of 250 messages may be used up, therefore not allowing me to go over my limit.
- I would have turned my phone in, in the morning, due to rules at school demanding we turn in our phone to 'prevent further distractions to the children's education'.
3. In the event that I was with someone needing medical attention, I would not be able to call for help due to the previous listed reasons. I mean, what do I say to a person in need? "Oh, Larry, could ya possibly hold that convulsion for a about 17 min. till my restrictions are off? Thanks, pal!"
4. Say, perhaps, I wanted to schedule a dinner date with my lovely girlfriend, and went to call the restaurant to make reservations...
*picks up phone and dials restaurants number*
Automative response: "We are sorry, but you are not permitted to call at this time due to restrictions set by your wireless account owner. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "
Me: ......................
I could go on and on with realistic situations that could happen, but, for the sake of restriction of internet time set by my mother time, I will conclude here. I hope you can relate, and feel my pain. It ain't fun. Oh well. Life goes on.
*SHALOM*
